Distributing components via URL
Framer has a feature called Remix. This allows you to publish specific projects, components, and designs as templates via a URL, which can be duplicated and customized independently by third parties. By using the Remix feature, you can easily create new projects based on existing designs or prototypes.
Here are four main features.
1. Learn from designs created by others
Since Remix links are published and distributed on social media and websites, you can import them to your own workspace or project from those URLs. You can learn in detail about the structure and settings of the design, as well as how to create animations.
It is also helpful for beginners since you do not have to start from scratch.
2. Use as a template
You can remix templates shared by designers and developers, adjusting them to meet your brand and project needs.
For example, you can remix an existing landing page template and change the text and images to finalize it for your own project.
3. Simplifying collaboration
Remixed projects are treated as independent projects and do not affect the original projects. You can change designs and specifications without worrying about the source.
When delivering a Framer project to clients, you can simply send the Remix link without inviting them to your workspace. The project will also include CMS.
4. Customization points after Remix
Change content: Edit text, images, links, etc., according to your purpose.
Change design: Adjust colors, fonts, layouts, etc.
Add animations: Set your own animations as needed.
Copying from the actual Remix link
Click this Remix link to open Framer and save it to your workspace.
You should have a project copied that looks like the image below.
Feel free to design as you wish, as changes will not affect the source.
